These English tongue twisters will help students practice sound SH and S:

1. Sam's shop stocks short spotted socks.

2. I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit.

3. Selfish shellfish. (Try saying this several times)

4. She sells seashells by the sea shore of the Seychelles.

5. She sells seashells on a seashore. The shells she sells are seashells, I'm sure.

6. Sally is a sheet slitter, she slits sheets.

7. The shells she sells are surely seashells. If she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells.

8. Shy Sally says she shall sew six sheets for her sister Shelly.

9. "Surely Sylvia swims!" shrieked Sammy surprised. "Someone should show Sylvia some strokes so she shall not sink."

10. What a shame such a shapely sash should such shabby stiches show [SH, CH, S] Tongue out

11. The sheriff should shoot slowly.

12. The sun shines on the shop signs. Wink

13.    Say this sharply, say this sweetly,

Say this shortly, say this softly.

Say this sixteen times in succession.

14.   Silly Sally swiftly shooed seven silly sheep.

The seven silly sheep Silly Sally shooed

shilly-shallied south.

These sheep shouldn't sleep in a shack.

Sheep should sleep in a shed.

15.   Susan shines shoes and socks;

socks and shoes shines Susan.

She stopped shining shoes and socks,

for shoes and socks shock Susan.
