Northern Arizona UniversityFlagstaff, Arizona Job DescriptionThe Program Coordinator for Student Activities /Special Programs works closely with the Assistant Director and over 200 international students each semester in the Program in Intensive English (PIE) to facilitate students' transition to university and community life in the United States, as well as to coordinate special, short-term programs and the summer program. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Coordinates PIE's summer program including curriculum development, staffing, scheduling, grade reports, etc. • Coordinates PIE's Evening Program and other short-term English programs, including curriculum development, staffing, scheduling • Develops and distributes PIE communication and promotional materials; coordinates PIE’s recruiting efforts • Provides yearly reports on effectiveness of activities, special programs, and summer program with recommendations • Coordinates recreational/social activities, trip planning, educational enrichment activities, guest speaker presentations, Conversation Partners program, PIE Student Council • Serves as liaison with NAU's Center for International Education to facilitate transition issues and student orientations • Assists PIE students with outside services information and referral • Participates in departmental and campus meetings as assigned • Assists the Assistant Director with Fall and Spring scheduling • Updates information on PIE's website Salary and CompensationAdditional Salary Information: This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position.
